How Do You Send a Birthday Video Message from an African Dance Group?

What to put in the message
The crew perform this out loud, so write it to be said, not read:
- Write the name phonetically if the spelling is misleading — "Siobhan (shiv-AWN)". This single step prevents most re-records.
- Three or four sentences. Longer than that and the energy drops.
- One specific detail — a nickname, an inside joke, a place. Specificity is the whole point.
- Say the occasion so they pitch it right: 30th, 60th, exam results, new job.

How to avoid the fakes
This category has filled up with AI-generated and template versions sold as the real thing. Before you buy from anyone — us included — check:
- Is the price under about £20? A genuine filmed-to-order video can't be produced for that.
- Does the sample footage show the name being said, or only shown on a card? Templates can print a name; they can't say it naturally.
- Does the seller say how the performers are paid? If they won't answer, that tells you something.
- Is there a re-record policy? Template sellers can't offer one.
