Office Secret Santa Gift Ideas That Won’t Be Awkward (UK 2026)

The best office Secret Santa gift makes sense even if you have only had two conversations with the person. Start with the agreed cap and the office's sense of humour, not a joke that needs an explanation.

For a colleague you barely know

• A notebook and decent pen, if your team still uses them.
• A small plant with a care card, if the office has daylight.
• Tea or coffee from a local shop, after checking what they drink.
• A card game for a shared lunch break.

For someone you know better

A book on the hobby they actually talk about beats a generic "work hard, play hard" mug. A homemade "survival kit" of their usual snacks can work too. Check dietary needs before buying food. Keep anything personal, romantic or potentially embarrassing out of a public reveal.

A group gift with a punchline

If the rules allow digital gifts and the cap is at least £29.99, a personalised Christmas video is an option: a crew performs your message and says their name. Check the package price on the product page before buying. Make the script about a shared moment at work, not a private story. If a public reveal would feel awkward, send the finished video to them privately instead of playing it in a meeting.

Before the draw

Set one spending limit, the reveal date and whether digital gifts count. Give everyone a way to share two or three likes without naming their Santa. If the cap is lower than the current video price, stick to a smaller physical gift; do not stretch the budget to fit a suggestion.
